    Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers to the questions we hear most from new students at our Cambridge martial arts gym. If yours is not here, call us or stop by the gym on Airpax Road. Whether you are looking for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes, kickboxing-style striking in our Muay Thai program, boxing classes or kids classes, the answer starts the same way: come take your free first class.

Every program below is taught by Coach Sheldon Neighoff and follows the same philosophy: technique first, conditioning through real training, and steady measurable progress. Beginners drill fundamentals until they hold up under pressure. Experienced students sharpen their game against honest resistance. And because grappling and striking live under one roof, students here become complete martial artists instead of specialists with blind spots.

Do I need experience to start?

No. Every program at our gym is built to take complete beginners, and your first class is free. You will be paired with the coach and drilling partners from day one, and nobody expects you to know anything before you walk in.

What should I wear to my first class?

Comfortable athletic clothes and a water bottle. That is it. When you arrive we will walk you through everything else, including what gear you will eventually want if you stick with it.

Which class should I start with?

If grappling and ground control interest you, start with Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. If you would rather strike, start with Muay Thai or boxing. Plenty of members do both. Look at the class schedule, pick the session that fits your week, and try it.

Are the kids classes beginner friendly?

Yes. Kids martial arts at No Limits is built for beginners. Our Kids & Teens programs teach discipline, respect and focus first, and build technique through structured drills and games. Call us at 443-754-5012 and we will help you place your child in the right group.

    Is BJJ good for self-defense?

It is one of the best systems there is. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu teaches you to control a larger, stronger opponent using leverage and technique rather than strength, which is exactly the situation self-defense usually is.

    How much does it cost?

Your first class is free, no strings attached. Come train once, see the room and meet the coach, and we will go over membership options that fit what you want to do. Call 443-754-5012 or send us a message any time.

Do kids and adults train together?

No. Kids and teens have their own dedicated programs with age-appropriate coaching, and adults train in their own classes. Check the weekly schedule to see when each group meets.

    What styles do you teach?

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, boxing, wrestling and Isshinryu karate, all under one roof at our Cambridge gym. Training across styles is encouraged, because a complete martial artist needs both grappling and striking.
